I wish I could agree with you here, but I don't.
There are so many registered voters who are so uninformed and just plain ignorant concerning key issues that I believe they would do the country a great service by NOT VOTING. Why dilute the pot(with more informed voters).
For example, if you were to ask every day U.S. citizens about elected officials, you might be shocked by how little most of them know, and this is just common information concerning politics(ex. secretaries of state, treasury head, state delegates, etc.).
Compulsory voting? Nah!
