My question is how are you spending your time while you wait for that special someone to come along.

I love my job and I love my career field so I am dedicated to my chosen profession. I am a librarian - more specifically a systems librarian. I do web page development and coordinate library instruction on three campuses. So my professional life is fulfilling.

Fortunately, at the college, we have four day work weeks, which means I have had three day weekends all summer. And being new to the area, but having family close by, I get to visit people that I have not seen in a while. Also, since I live 20 minutes north of Orlando there is a lot to do. I like arcades, motorcycle riding, fishing, and going to the various entertainment parks. Some weekends I just take a rest.

I do observe the Sabbath on Saturday - which means I rest, but attend an Assembly of God Church on Sunday. I like the contemporary type of praise. I am a good steward who rightly handles the Word.

I like music but have not had the time to convert my laptop into a stand alone studio - easier if you are a MAC user because of "garage band". With the PC you have to download the software and use an interface for vocals, so it is a more in depth process. And somewhat tedious.

I continue to educate myself with various computer and hardware certifications, like A+, Visual Basic, and database software. Additionally an MBA and and a PHD are possibly in the future. I am very goal oriented, but believe in a balanced lifestyle.

Oh, I have 132+ nieces and nephews ranging from 6 months - 48. They love me and I love them and since they are in various age ranges, I have to be a good conversationalist.

If you are not doing anything outside of this site - why? What's up with that?

Well, I am not waiting for that special someone to come along.
I am living and enjoying my life, doing whatever whenever I like.
If I should cross paths with a special man and we enhance each others lives...I will consider and evaluate that then.

Librarians rule the world! LOL, I'm a cataloger in Texas. I love my profession too. We'll be upgrading to Voyager 7 soon, so I want to learn more on the systems side.

I was fortunate to find my special one, but it did take a while. I started dating online in 2003. I did Yahoo! Personals, and a church of christ website, and eharmony for a while. It was a black woman that I met on Yahoo, that told me about interracialmatch.com. We were at Laurell K. Hamilton's booksigning, and she asked me to point out some women that I found attractive. (By this time, we knew we were just going to be friends, no sparks ever flew.) Well, I pointed to a mixed girl on the cover of a book, saying that I thought she was pretty cute. She told me that I had to get on interracialmatch.com. Said it REALLY loud too! I was like, "Just tell the whole world!"

After that, I logged onto IR and started sending out emails to women who fit my search criteria. I was really blessed to contact a woman who lived just a few miles from me. We met in person after exchanging emails for about a week. In our first few weeks of dating, we went out together about ten times.

What's so funny, is that we'd both had profiles on Yahoo, but never run across each other. I'd stopped searching for black women on there, because I never had a response from the ones I'd contact. My friend that got me on IR, actually contacted me first.

Anyway, I met the love of my life on this website, but it wasn't the only one that I was on, and not the only avenue I used to meet people.
