I'm actually proud of my age.   I would never want to falsely advertise myself as someone I'm not.  But, also, I know I look great for my age (48).   Did I look better at 35?   Of course!   But for my age I'm really proud to be in great shape and youthful.   If I shaved off 5-10 years off of my age I don't think I'd keep my bragging rights.

Thats a good question NY. I've known women that lie about their age, sexual promiscuities, income, even whether or not they color their hair lol. And the same goes for men. It seems to me that these people are insecure about some aspect of themselves: i.e. their looks, their abilities or their inabilities. The thing is, once someone lies to you, its hard to figure out what else they lie or sugar-coat, or embellish.

Ageism .... People tend to be untruthful about their age because they don't want to be judged by it. Why is our society so hung up on age anyways ... I am older than I look (was completely honest about it in my profile) and I know that those who look at the number first assume that they know me based on it. Those who see me before learning my age have a different reaction. A dirty old man once told me ..."You are only as old as the person you feel" be careful with that one.

hmmm. You know certain bait is going to draw certain kinds of fish. With a handle like NYCrealtor over you head, I'd imagine you might draw just about anything! lol Little wonder your questions are of an apprehensive nature. XD

Actually I'm much younger than my profile states..LOL

You have every right to be upset when someone has purposely deceived you. I have a question though, how do you know they are infact older than they are saying they are or do they just look older? Oh,and for the record I have caught men doing the same thing, they admitted they where much older than their profile stated, only AFTER we met. Soooo not cool !!!!
