Knowing that he will be new to my soul, but not to love, I will take the first step in opening up with everything I can think to tell him. He will know more about me than anyone will which will allow him to know what he is getting into...fully. This was not the approach I took to my almost 20 year relationship and now I see that union as a beautiful life's lesson that I have learned enough to prefect with my new beau!
I know we all say that we tell our new loves "everything" but most of it is our good side...at least initially; we tell them what we want them to know and then end up surprising them when we show them the 'other side' of our personality. As the the thought is believed, "after you date for awhile you change", I don't think we change I think the "good" that is promoted is what we say and the actions we show is who we really are. So I will make it a point to tell him the good and then the not-so-good all in the same breath! I think that will cement in him, my human and my spirit and my full intention to be as 'real' as I can be. That will take away the doubt and the wonder and promote a truth that we all can live with.
OK...that's what I promise to do...What will you do?
